Rio Ferdinand will travel to Croatia with the rest of the template for England on Wednesday for World Cup qualifier after returning to training on Monday. The Manchester United defender missed Saturday's 2-0 victory over Andorra in Barcelona with a back injury.
However, coach Fabio Capello suggested the centre-half would be fit for the trip to Zagreb and Ferdinand returned to training on Monday at England's Spanish training base. The 29-year-old, now seems likely to return along with captain John Terry in central defence in place of Everton's Joleon Lescott.
Meanwhile, Capello has admitted that is undecided on whether to recall Joe Cole from his line-up to face Croatia, despite his two goals against Andorra cameo appearance.
The Chelsea midfielder has not started a game for England since the friendly defeat to France in March, but made a dramatic impact half after their arrival time on Saturday in the opening World Cup qualifier.
"I have to think of Joe," said Italian coach. "He's very good for himself at the time and very good for us. But I have to decide what will be the first 11. It will be another match and that a different type of game."
