Manchester City hit Pompey for six

Manchester eased to a 6-0 victory against Portsmouth, as the sun shone in the Eastlands. Jo, Richard Dunne, Robinho, Shaun Wright-Phillps, CHED Evans and Gelson Fernandes has goals as the Blues humbled Harry Redknapp men.

City hopes of living outside the procedures and dominated as his trio of Brazilians Jo, Robinho and Elano started to run the show. It is fitting then that it was Jo, who opened the scoring on 13 minutes when evaded the offside trap to skip around David James and roll the ball into an empty net.

Only seven minutes later the Blues then doubled their lead when Elano smart corner was spilled by James Dunn and was in charge of the house package on the rebound. Opportunities came and went at both ends as the half wore on, but it was Mark Hughes' men who continue to create the better openings.

City continued to go to the samba beat after the break and Robinho grabbed a well-deserved third place in 57 minutes, when it benefited from a fine build-up play to fire an effort past a stranded James stoppable.

The outstanding Stephen Ireland set up after quarter of Wright-Phillips, before strengthening Evans off the bench to round off the move of the game on 78 minutes. There is still time to call Fernandes in the sixth as Pompey Crumb and cracked under the relentless pressure.--
