Jo twice in the City


* Brazilian brace sees Blues come from behind




Manchester City came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Omonia Nicosia in their opener of the Uefa Cup. Omonia had ido front across Klodian Duro, but a support Jo (photo) ensured City will have an essential element of lead in the second tranche of the first round of competition.



City were left cursing their luck during a lively first half, as they created the better openings. Brazilian Striker Jo not somehow connecting with a cross Stephen Ireland midway through the half, while later attacked the post with a low drive.



Ireland was then denied by the wood itself as not to squeeze the ball home from the tightest of angles. The goals did arrive after the break, but is that the hosts struck first just four minutes when Duro powered a shot into the upper free.



Having endured a frustrating first half, Jo amendment made 10 minutes later when he married a package of Shaun Wright-Phillips cross. In 72 minutes, the South American then completed the scoring when forward fired a pure left foot effort at the bottom. Hard crashed a long range effort off the bar as Omonia looking for an answer, but none was forthcoming.
