Cole, drink-driving


According to police sources, the West Ham striker was arrested in London for driving under the influence of alcohol. London-striker's club West Ham United, Carlton Cole, was arrested in London in the early hours of Tuesday for allegedly having driven under the influence of alcohol, sources reported today by the police.



The player, 24, was arrested by officers while driving his car, an Audi Q7, on a road near the river Thames in the British capital. Cole had to undergo a breath test and was taken to a nearby police station, where he later was released on bail.



A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said that about 4.25 hours of the morning of Sept. 23, officers arrested "on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol" a man of 24 years. The attacker was not played during the match on Tuesday disputed that the 'Hammers' in the League Cup to Watford due to an injury to his foot.



The English team coach, Italian Gianfranco Zola, said this striker that has the potential to represent his country with the English selection if he continues to improve in the field.
