Salomon Kalou keeps Blues record intact

Substitute Salomon Kalou keeps Chelsea's long unbeaten home intact after heading home a 1-1 tie in a draw with title rivals Manchester United.

During long periods of time, Chelsea appeared to be on course for a first defeat at Stamford Bridge since February 2004 until Kalou popper until 10 minutes from time.

A lively opening spell United saw the reigning champions take the lead on 18 minutes when Petr Cech spilled Dimitar Berbatov's shot and Park Ji-Sung slotted home the rebound.

Chelsea had improved the game, with both Joe Cole and Nicolas Anelka missing golden opportunities to equalize for the Blues.

However, after Wayne Rooney had given an unnecessary free-kick, John Obi Mikel elected the unmarked Kalou to head beyond substitute goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak.
