Piero rues Sicilian slip-up

Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero was left scratching his head after the Old Lady's disappointing draw with Catania. The Bianconeri fell behind Inter at the top of the table after they were held in Turin on one side Catania food.

After Gianvito Plasmati equalizer, Juve put constant pressure on the Sicilian goal, but could not find a winner. "We controlled the game too soon," said Del Piero.

"We seemed to wait for them to get back to 1-1 and then we created so many occasions in the last 20 minutes. We were not helped by the pitch. Last year was fantastic, but this season is in a horrible state."

Juve must now try and bounce back when they travel to struggling Sampdoria this weekend. "There's so much desire and hunger to win here," said Del Piero. "You can see that in every game and we must continue to demonstrate the same mentality."
