Zidane 'Sorry' Matrix to attack

Zinedine Zidane deeply regrets head-butting Marco Materazzi in the final of the 2006 World Cup, according to a forthcoming book about the French legend. Zidane marred when a sparkling career head-butted Materazzi and received a red card during extra time in the final to Germany.

The former Juventus man has always refused to apologize for their actions, but apparently some kind of apology is finally on its way. In a book written by journalist Besma Lahouri called 'The dark side of Zidane', it was revealed that Zidane told his cousin he regretted his actions on that fateful day.

It has been reported that when talking with his cousin Akbou in Algeria, Zidane said: "Do not ever say I did well when head-butted Materazzi. I do not do the right thing and I'm sorry for that."

This revelation may finally put an end to a saga that has captured the headlines on several occasions over the past two years.
