Liverpool v Manchester United 2-1; Prediction Ade Adran Syahlan is Right

(Owner blog, ballmedia.blogspot.com, Ade Adran Syahlan, prediction Liverpool-Man United 2-1 this is, 11 Sept )

For the first time in seven years, Manchester United beat Liverpool in a Premiership game at Anfield Road. The winning goal was from Ryan Babel in the second half.

United had taken the lead after only three minutes as Dimitar Berbatov beat two defenders and Carlos Tevez found in the penalty area. The Argentine then hit past Pepe Reina to make it 0-1. But Liverpool soon gained strength, and would be the best part of all the rest of the match.

His first award came at minute 27. A right-wing cross from Xabi Alonso had Edwin van der Sar want to punch away, but the goalkeeper headed the ball to Wes Brown instead of the feet, after which returned in goal for 1-1.

Liverpool continued attacking in the second half, and Rafael Benitez brought on Steven Gerrard and Ryan Babel to give his side more options for the remaining half hour.

The Reds offset their deserved winner thirteen minutes from the end. Javier Mascherano struggled in the past two Mancunians goal line, and somehow reached the ball to Dirk Kuijt. The latter then returned to his fellow Dutch Ryan Babel, which sent the ball over the heads of several United players and keeper Van der Sar to make it 2-1.

Liverpool had not beaten United in a Premiership home game since November 2001, and is the first Premiership victory over Manchester ever for Benitez.
