Berbatov: Here for a lifetime

The striker Dimitar Berbatov is ready to pledge his future to Manchester United for the rest of his career.

The Bulgarian international, who won a switch £ 30.75m Tottenham on Monday, could make his debut against Liverpool on September 13.

He told MUTV: "I know I can develop here. I am 27. I'm in the club world's largest and perhaps this could be the last step in my career."

Levy defended Berber sale

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy insists the club were right to allow Dimitar Berbatov to join Manchester United.

The Bulgarian, who sat out Spurs' last two league games, gave a period of days to switch to Old Trafford after being linked with a transfer throughout the summer.

Levy told Spurs' website: "Juande Ramos was clear in not wanting to accept any player in the dressing room that he had no desire to play for the badge."
