Milan admit interest Drogba and Adebayor

Milan head coach Leonardo has admitted that the club are still interested in signing Premiership duo Emmanuel Adebayor and Didier Drogba.

The Rossoneri have made no secret of their intentions to sign a centre for world class forward this summer, several weeks ago and coach Carlo Ancelotti call Adebayor both Arsenal and Chelsea's Drogba in a four-man front list. Milan attempts to buy any of these two players has proved frustrating, and that had appeared last week that they had abandoned all hope.

However it was reported in the Italian press this morning that the Diavoli had reignited his interest in Adebayor, Leonardo and now admit that they still have an interest in Drogba. "It is no secret that we are interested in signing a forward and we are looking for candidates," the Brazilian told BBC Sport.

"Drogba is a good player and I like Adebayor. We are waiting for the right moment to make a move."

Leonardo also lamented the fact that Italian clubs do not have the financial power than their English and Spanish counterparts make. "We have to accept that the incomes of the top English and Spanish teams are greater than are found in Italy and it is very difficult for us to compete," he said.

"But we can offer other things. We have a first class for the players and a wonderful story."

Leonardo Milan represented as a player from 1997 to 2001 and from 2002 to 2003.
