Fabregas: I am not ready to move to Real Madrid

Centrocampista Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas has hinted that he is interested in a move to Real Madrid, but poured cold water on the idea that he could move to Bernabeu this summer.

Reports in Spain suggest Madrid president Ramon Calderon, resigned to put aside extreme Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United, has prepared a large supply of money for 21 years.

However, while Fabregas, a product of the youth academy in Barcelona, revealed he could move to Madrid in the future, he insists he wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium for the moment. "I did not tell Ramon Calderon not," he told Spanish sports daily Marca. "I told him that now is not the time to go to Madrid. You are looking for Madrid, one of the greatest teams in history, is important."

Fabregas enjoyed a great summer as he helped Spain to end its 44 years of waiting for a trophy at Euro 2008. Nationally, however, for the third year in the trot, the midfielder finished another season empty handed.

And the young star, who feels that, without doubt, to lift a trophy if they opt for the Spanish champion, admits another season without any silver you could see the head of the exit door. "To be four seasons without winning any title would be too much for me," added Fabregas. "Real Madrid are favourites to win the league this year."

Arsenal trophyless season became even more painful as rivals Manchester United swept all before them at home and in Europe.

Fabregas is no doubt that the man who made the difference for United would be a great success at the Bernabeu. "The League and the Champions League which United won this season was due to Christian," he continued. "Madrid would help them win titles." (dailymail)
