Scolari happy

Luiz Felipe Scolari cree that Chelsea will have to improve on their impressive 4-0 demolition of Portsmouth if they are to take the title away from the Premier League Manchester United.

Scolari sprayed Stardust in Stamford Bridge in their first match Premier League as goals from Joe Cole, Nicolas Anelka, Frank Lampard and Deco ripped to shreads Portsmouth. It's the sort of breathtaking display owner Roman Abramovich has always wanted, but Scolari was defective enough to realize that he still has a lot of adjustment to be done before the new club "Blue Brazil 'nickname rings true.

The Brazilian knows that can not allow his players to rest on its laurels and was quick to issue a warning message to the party on Sunday after winning. "The players put on the field what we did with them in training. We realized most of the other parties preseason we have to do," said Scolari.

"But we will need more quality in the future if we win the Premier League or Champions League.'ll Need more than that."

Scolari, taking over a club match for the first time in seven years, a liquid used five man midfield which left Portsmouth stunned and confused as Deco, Cole, Lampard and Michael Ballack Rampage forward to support Anelka.

But the former Portugal and Brazil coach insisted that the players rather than his tactics that made the difference. "Lampard is not Brazilian. He is English. But he touched the ball very well. It's his style. The same with Ballack. We have a style. It is impossible to say Deco: 'lack people'. That is not his style" , Said Scolari.

"I just give players the freedom to play and allow them to express their style. This is a performance not Chelsea Scolari."

While the Chelsea midfield marauders won the majority of applause, Scolari said after Anelka praise for the France striker responded to their manager of the pre-game attempt to put more fire in his game. Scolari added: "I'm happy with Anelka. I said to him: 'You have three or four chances. You need to make one or two goals for me and for the people. I want people to believe in you more than before."

Chelsea broke the deadlock in 12 minutes. Deco movie was the torso of Anelka back to Michael Ballack and the German made a sumptuous move towards Cole, who drove a low shot past David James.

The second goal came when José Bosingwa completely Unhinged Portsmouth defence with an increase in cross-term and scooped up Deco for Anelka at the forefront in the empty net. Lampard offset the third of the penalty spot in first half stoppage time after Sylvain different manipulated Cole's shot. Scolari Deco cap a perfect day when it broke esquive shot in the upper corner in the 89 th minute.

After the euphoria of winning his debut, Scolari faces a frustrating week before his second match at Wigan next Sunday, since most of their players are going to international duty. "They are going for a few days now to the national team. That's frustrating, but it is a Fifa date," said Scolari.--soccerway--
