Arsenal Hoyte accept the proposal, Middlesbrough set to open talks with right-back




Middlesbrough confirmed that they had a bid accepted for Arsenal full back Justin Hoyte.



Boro chairman Steve Gibson revealed on Tuesday that the club was presented a proposal for a defender as manager Gareth Southgate is seeking replacement right-back Luke Young, who recently signed for Aston Villa.



Hoyte, who enjoyed a loan spell at Sunderland in the 2005/06 year, the struggle for first-team football last season gunners, making only two prime-league starts.



And Southgate Boro are now set to open talks with 23 years, although the proposed transfer is a race with time to be completed before the club campaign opener against Tottenham Hotspur.



Chief executive Keith Lamb told the club official website: "We have agreed with Arsenal fee and now we have received permission to speak to Justin, we will consider during the next 24-48 hours."



If Hoyte not to press his plans to go to the Riverside Stadium before Saturday's game with Spurs then Rice Williams, likely to start ahead of Tony McMahon in defence.
