David James will inspect the two goal areas to Zagreb to try to ensure that no more cock-ups against Croatia. Predecessor Paul Robinson's reputation was shot to bits when they do not connect with a Gary Neville pass back when England lost 2-0 there in their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign. And on Wednesday, Portsmouth keeper James will ensure that there are no lumps and beating to give nightmares.
James is "100% safe" England will avoid a repeat of his defeat in Zagreb and will take every precaution to ensure that there is no 'air intakes' for him. James, a virtual spectator in England 2-0 victory over Andorra, is a staunch defender there will be no repetition of anguish when the two teams meet again.
He said: "This result will give us confidence for the game of Croatia. We must bear in mind that we were against a defensive minded side in Andorra. We knew it would be difficult to break down. We have seen videos of them and it is clear that iban to put nine or 10 men behind the ball in more opportunities. But we came away with a nice win 2-0. I had nothing to do - which is always good - and we will prepare properly and be confident going into the game in Croatia."
James indicated that England would be better prepared for what lies ahead in Zagreb in 2006 - and he is a big fan of Fabio Capello no-nonsense management style. He said: "Croatia is a decent side, but I am 100% convinced that we are good enough to get something out of the game. People go on about the last time - but this is not the last time. What is different now? We have a decent organization behind us and I am sure we will be ready for it. The manager is not low cost and fuss, said that how he sees it and wants it. For a player at international level you need to know what is expected of you and there can be no ambiguity. He has been very clear. Having a go at me a couple of times in training on things, but I would rather know that he is unhappy to walk away wondering what he is thinking. Mr Capello rectum, is frankly magnificent."
