"We will do our best to keep our Premier League dream alive at Newcastle"

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech says that the current Chelsea team is better than he has ever seen before at the club, despite the fact that they may miss out on this year's Premiership title.

Despite being a crucial part of the team that won back-to-back Premiership titles under Jose Mourinho, the Czech international keeper feels that the current crop of players compares favourably with that of years gone by.

"I would say that this team is on the same level and maybe a bit better than we were two season ago," stated Cech in an interview with BBC Radio Five Live.

"This is because this year has been tough and we started from behind, having to chase [Manchester] United.
"That is very difficult to do so the quality we have shown is at least the same.”

Title Battle Goes On

The Blues face Newcastle away from home tomorrow, knowing that nothing but a win is needed to keep the pressure on the league leaders going into the last game.

"We will do our best to keep our Premier League dream alive at Newcastle. If we win this then the last game will be interesting," he continued.

"There is always a lot of pressure at Chelsea but we are used to this and have to make sure we keep winning games.

"You can see we have the same qualities as two years ago when we won the Premier League, we can handle the pressure and maybe win every game."

Glad For Avram

On the back of making their first ever Champions League Final, the keeper also found time to sing the praises of manager Avram Grant."Last week was a great week as we beat United and reached the Champions League Final, which was a great achievement," he continued.

"It was an emotional week for Avram because he was under pressure. He must take great personal satisfaction from this as this is the first time Chelsea have made the Champions League Final," concluded Cech.

Cech, capped fifty-six times by his country, has overcome injury troubles to have another solid season – starting in 24 league games to date in this campaign.
