“The Scudetto? Inter will win”

Roma defender Cristian Panucci is not too optimistic regarding his side’s chances of winning the Scudetto.

The Giallorossi have reopened the title race in the last few weeks when it all seemed to be over as early as February. Inter have helped Roma by repeatedly stumbling, allowing Roma right back into the fray as we go into the final day's play on Sunday.

But despite the Giallorossi having an outside chance of glory, their vice captain, Panucci, believes Inter will clinch their third straight title on Sunday. “The Scudetto? Inter will win,” said Panucci.

“It will not be easy for us in Catania and we know this but we need to show our character in order to come out of the game with the better result.

“If Inter are playing for the Scudetto on the last day, it means that we have taken them there because we reopened the title race and it’s down to us.

“Of course they have also slipped up a few times along the way though.”

The Giallorossi can still win the Scudetto, but they need to ensure they beat relegation fighters Catania and hope that Parma, who are also battling to escape the drop, beat the Nerazzurri at the Tardini.

It’s unlikely that the Ducali will get a result against Inter, but the Nerazzurri have crumbled when the pressure has been increased in recent weeks - most unlike their form beforehand - so it truly is impossible to call. (source: goal.com/Salvatore Landolina)
