With so much at stake it looks set to be a tight affair in Basel as these two sides battle for a place in the semi finals. Form says Portugal, history says Germany.
Germany will have to really step up a gear from what they have shown so far in the tournament. If Mario Gomez and Miroslav Klose wake up and deliver like they can, they will pose a real threat.
Portugal on the other hand have impressed in their ‘two’ games and have the added advantage of an extra few days rest. It’s a very difficult one to call, but as the old adage goes: “Never write off the Germans”.
