John Carew headed the tying goal in the 86th minute for Aston Villa to draw 2-2 with Everton in the Premier League.
Everton twice went ahead at Goodison Park, but each time Villa responded— there were three goals in a seven-minute span to earn a point in the race to finish fifth and secure a place in next season’s UEFA Cup.
The draw means that Everton has 62 points in 36 games, while has Villa 59 with two rounds to go.
In Sunday’s other game, Roque Santa Cruz scored the winner in the 74th minute for Blackburn to beat sixth-place Portsmouth 1-0 and virtually finish Pompey’s chances of finishing fifth.(source: yahoo/ap)
