Del Piero and Kaka score hat tricks in Italian

Inter Milan beat Torino 1-0 Sunday and moved six points clear of AS Roma at the top of Serie A with only four rounds remaining.

If Inter beats Cagliari next week, the Nerazzurri can clinch the title with a win over city rival AC Milan on May 4.

“We’re on the right road,” Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic said. “But we’ve got to remain focused and fight until it’s over.”

Julio Ricardo Cruz scored with a diving header off a corner in the 30th minute for his first league goal since the Milan derby on Dec. 23.

Also, Alessandro Del Piero and Kaka scored hat tricks in wins for Juventus and Milan, respectively.

Del Piero tallied the final three goals in Juve’s 4-0 rout of Atalanta, and Kaka converted two penalties then added another goal in Milan’s 5-1 win over Reggina.

Still trying to secure a place on Italy’s European Championship squad, Del Piero was asked if he thought Azzurri coach Roberto Donadoni would phone him after the match.

“I don’t think so. We haven’t spoken lately,” Del Piero said. “The important thing is that he calls me at the right moment. Then, if it doesn’t happen, life goes on the same.”

Sampdoria shut out Udinese 3-0 with two goals from Claudio Bellucci. Milan and Sampdoria are still trying to catch fourth-place Fiorentina in the race for the final Champions League berth.

Inter leads with 78 points. Roma is next with 72, Juventus has 67 and Fiorentina 59. Milan and Sampdoria are tied for fifth with 55 each.(source: yahoo)
