Ballack Wants Liverpool Champions League Revenge

Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack wants Liverpool to beat Arsenal in their Champions League quarter final clash, in order that Chelsea can then beat them in the semi final and gain revenge on their Champions League nemesis.

Liverpool have beaten the Blues in their last two European semi-finals and Ballack wants to exact revenge as Chelsea strive to reach their first ever final.

First of all however, they have to overcome the tough challenge posed by Turkish side Fenerbahce. “It is difficult to say whether Liverpool or Arsenal will go through, both teams are in good shape” he said.

“But we don't have good experience with Liverpool so we have to balance the history and win the game. “We have to think about Fenerbahce now though. I don't like to look too far ahead, so we must concentrate on the next game.”

The German midfielder doesn’t believe that Chelsea have an easy draw with Fenerbahce, despite the Turks never having reached the quarter final stage before.“It is not an easy draw. People think we are clear favourites, but you have to be a strong team to get through. “Fenerbahce is a tough place to go, one of the best atmospheres in Europe and they have a lot of international players, so it will be hard” he said.

“But, we have the advantage of playing the second game at home; we know what we have to do. We are looking forward to the game; it is a nice draw because we haven't played Fenerbahce in the past, so it will be very interesting.” (source: goal/Mathew Burt)
