Torres, ten days' absence

Spanish striker Fernando Torres will be low about ten days by a sprained tendon in his knee, as confirmed its technical Rafael Benitez.

Torres suffered the injury on Wednesday in the party who disputed with the Spanish team in Brussels to Belgium, so will miss the games against the Wigan Athletic, before the Atletico de Madrid, his former team for the Champions League and before the Chelsea.

"I am very disappointed because now it seems that we will lose to Fernando for three major parties," Benitez lamented.

"We have to Wigan at home and away to Chelsea in the league and Atletico Madrid away in the Champions League and lose to any player who is already a blow," he added.

The coach was again unfortunate that the international calendar is loaded demanding much to the players. "Someone needs to analyze this situation because it is putting players at risk of injury," he said.

"Perhaps the answer is to make a classification system with two levels of teams, because there are many qualifying matches for the World Cup and Euro that are not competitive but still pose a great demand for the players."

"These parties are unnecessary and perhaps it would be better if the weaker among them and play the best faced with stronger countries by the classification", proposed by the Spanish.

Benitez could also have the low end of Ryan Babel, who was injured in his ankle playing for his country, Holland.

Liverpool, however, wants to continue to show the strength that led him to occupy the top of the table English. "It is important that we show our strength in moments like this. We can not do anything with those injured, so it depends on the players go out and do a good job when you need them."
