Mancini's Munich triumph

Amantino Mancini scored his first goal for Inter in a prestigious 1-0 victory at Bayern Munich to lift the Cup Franz Beckenbauer. The Nerazzurri began his high-profile mainland on a tour packed Allianz Arena against Jürgen Klinsmann champions of the Bundesliga.

As in the previous TIM Trophy exit, José Mourinho's men seemed a bit slow and unsure of himself, handing the initiative to Bayern at the start. Francesco Toldo was tested by an angled drive and Philipp Lahm Hamit Altintop strike in the first half, although Demichelis was developed with an injury.

The bright spot among the opening 45 minutes was represented by Adriano, who moved well and had their only chance with a free-kick. The deadlock was broken in the Italians' favour after 51 minutes when Mancini caught a long pass Luis Figo chipped and Bayern goalkeeper his first goal for Inter.

This provoked a return of the hosts, as Toldo rejected an effort Kroes and Lucio header. The veteran goalkeeper needs a splendid one-handed save to deny Kroes point blank range in his next post. Substitute Mario Balotelli Barwuah almost done in late 2-0 with a free kick as Inter leave Munich with an impressive victory.

They set compensation for tonight from Amsterdam, where he will face Seville and Ajax.
