PREDICTION: Fiorentina 1-0 Rangers
It doesn’t take a genius to work out what the pattern of this game will be. Rangers will sit back and defend, trying to catch Fiorentina out on the break. They cannot be ruled out of this tie, but ultimately I fancy the home side to steal a narrow victory, with Mutu grabbing the only goal.
PREDICTION Zenit St Petersburg 1 Bayern Munich 2
Bayern haven’t made things easy for themselves in the latter stages of this season’s Uefa Cup and were minutes from crashing out to Getafe in the quarter final. They have given themselves an uphill task after taking their foot off the gas and allowing Zenit to equalise in the second half of the first leg. That away goal needs to be cancelled out so Bayern will have to start offensively in order to quieten the home crowd and get back on level terms. They won’t have things all their own way at the Petrovsky, but in the end they should come away with the result, that will see them through to the final in Manchester.
